There’s a whole bunch of creepy, atmospheric 2.5D side-scrolling puzzle platformers if you get into this. A genre unto itself.
Love it, but I´m surprised by how often I get killed. Thought this was an easy and relaxed game.
I’ve been playing nothing but Space Marine II for the last week or so. It’s a simple and repetitive gameplay loop, BUT IT’S A GOOD ONE.
same can be said about dmc, hell most games, but when the pacing is on point you dont even realize or care! Fun is thr drug.
Currently playing Neon White
Genuinely one of the best games I’ve ever played, no cap.
Beat DMC3 normal, doing a half ass vergil run on easy. power trip galore! Here to say dmc3 is among the best games ever made, idk how i forgot but if you forgot too, get your ass back on it!
It truly is one of the best games ever, but the mandatory boss rush towards the end is excruciating to get through on replays.
Went back to FFXVI to play the DLC. Bit lost on what to do after. Was thinking of getting FFVIII or IX on the PS Store as they’re heavily discounted at the minute, thinking of finally playing XIV too. Might do something completely different like getting DMC5. Not sure what I’m feeling.
Yeah i agree but by the time i got to the end i could take most out in a couple mins, atleast it wasnt the slog of dmc4. i refuse to replay that game, atleast in 3 you only had to beat like 3 or 4 again. might jump into 5 next week
After returning to FFXVI to play the DLC (which was fine, nothing outstanding), I played the Metaphor Refantazio demo which was the prologue of the game. I did like it, I’ve always loved games that utilise cel-shading but I don’t think it’s fully for me. Did like a lot of aspects of it but especially for so early in the game the whole “saviour of the world” and “future king” thing just felt a bit too much for me. Not sure why it couldn’t have been built up over the first 10 hours or so instead, throwing everything in immediately including emotive reasons for each character joining the journey and wanting revenge just didn’t land for me. Well used to the saviour story and characters or VAs hamming it up for bigger moments in the story naturally from all the JRPGs I’ve played over the years, but leaning so heavily into that at the very beginning of the game just feels a bit too over the top. Don’t care for the cast much either apart from Gallica maybe so that didn’t help.
Gone back to FFVII Rebirth now to do the post game stuff. Finished all quests, beat high scores on all minigames in Golden Saucer and Costa del Sol, finished off that last Colloseum battle. Basically just have all the Brutal and Legendary VR challenges which will be a pain, and then the other hard/expert challenges like Fort Condor and stuff. Not sure I’ll bother but I’ve enjoyed the other side content. Something about the game feels so comforting to me.
jumped on dmc5 a few days ago and thoroughly enjoying it. It’s kinda weird, it’s both easier and more complicated at the same time. Gameplay wise though, it’s what I always hoped the progression of gaming to follow after the ps2, and dare say the very early ps3 generation. Still very early in but for a dude who’s hard to please when it comes to modern games, I have to say it’s really won me over. if very endearing, you can tell a lot of passion when into this game. i might be like 5 years late but if you’re on the fence already just jump over.
XIV has been a very lonely experience for me since my friends I played it with moved to Japan. Playing an MMO whilst interacting with pretty much nobody. It’s very Her (2013) coded. If you hop on I’m on the Spriggan server. I’d be down to hop back on, I disabled my sub recently as I spent most of October away or busy, but I enjoy playijng it here and there when I have the time. I’ve not reached the first DLC yet (the post-base game pre-DLC quests seem to go on FOREVER. They’re a bit dull honestly but people say Heavensward is great so you know…keep on trucking.
Persona 3 Reload. I’ve been wanting Metaphor: ReFantazio but since that costs me money, and P3R is free on Game Pass, and I’ve never played it, and I’m in an Atlus-y mood, and I was a member of SEES on MGSF, I’ll give it a go. Always intended to play FES but it looks so archaic in 2024 that I’m glad I waited for the remake. Not as invested as I was in Persona 5 Royal or Persona 4 Golden, but still a cut above most other JRPGs.
Also started Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 which dropped yesterday and…it’s good?! Consider me flabbergasted, but I’m rather enjoying the campaign for this one.
