Exactly how I felt my dude. I’m going into this with maximum caution though after how burnt I felt after the last two BF’s. I think we played a little WW2 a year or two ago, yeah? End of 2019 maybe, right around when that really good WW2 Pacific update dropped but right before they fucked the game up with balancing issues. We you were just chatting with us in the call but man what a mess that game ended up.
It was perfect for a month then some smoothbrains at EA/Dice decided to re-balance everything. Totally fucked the game up.
As for 2042, like you said Nick, I’m interested. The trailer there had some great moments reminiscent of BFBC2, and the maps and aesthetic were dripping with BF3/4 so it could be a hit…ngl that massive skirmish at the base of the space ship trying to launch was dope.
I’ll be watching this carefully.

I haven’t properly played Battlefield since BF3 and it was still nowhere near the experience that BFBC2 was so I want to really like this but I don’t know really. Will see how the gameplay looks I guess but I can’t say I’m in yet.

Yeah Bad Company 2 was the last time I played a Battlefield game a lot. Great game. Cool trailer but I’m not gonna get hyped yet. Really haven’t been a fan of the last few games

Anybody else used to play Battlefield 2142 as well? That game was kinda weird and difficult but some amazing ideas for multiplayer that you still don’t see a lot in games, and there was a mod that let you play with 60 or 90 bots running around, which was ridiculous but fun. I had so much fun with that game that I might get this one too if they do a decent job on developing it.

I played it a bit when it came out but never really got into it. BC/BC2 were more my speed later on.
If they do this one right, I’ll likely pick it up on sale.

I liked BC2 a lot. I tried playing both BF1 and BFV but they just weren’t my flavour. Found myself kind of just lost and/or bored. I also gotta say, the gunplay in 1 did not feel satisfying or meaty at all. The most fun I had was with the pocket pistols, but otherwise, nah.

It looks good but I feel like it just won’t be for me. The “bigger is better” ideology and maps so enormous it’ll take an age to get to the other side aren’t ones I generally share and while I’m sure it could still be a great game it just feels like it might be too much for me.

BF2 started my online PC clan gaming days and I’m so thankful for it. Stuck with the same gaming group through BF2, 2142 and BFBC2 and it was golden.
I loved 2142, Titans added something new and fresh to the genre and online multiplayer.
I’m nervous about 2042, it’s great to see a successor but I only played BF3 a bit and nothing after, and saw a lot of negativity with EA/DICE on the later releases, it would suck if they didn’t do 2042 the service it should get.

the hype has boosted bf4 playerbase lol, played like 5 hours on ps4 last night. I still will maintain that bf3 is years better (only engineers can use SMGs in bf4) but I still had a great time

i aint gonna lie, I’m hyped, the first time i;ve watched jackfrags BF vids in what have felt like years. i do think this has the potential to be another classic BF game. As much as i enjoy the newer cod games i really do miss the dynamic of real team and squad play. Miss playing a role that isn’t just “Shoot gun KILL HUMAN” sometimes i wanted to be a horny male nurse and run around patching people up with provocative words over the team chat, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE THE WAY I PLAY, OK!
In all seriousness I do want this to be good. I really enjoy media class and actually sniping. @Hessikin and i used to have some amazing sniper and spotter team ups in the old BC2 days. @Beags pilot of all vehicles, @Jmtc1223 medic @Joey_Flares ammo and FLARE operator, everyone had a real role i’m looking forward to more

HELL YEAH! I liked running around with the shotfun and just giving everyone FREE BULLETS!
It’s a game that doesnt require you to just run out into combat and get killed you can be a lover and give folks bullets and ammo, and they all praise you! what a game!

yeah dude the moments this game presents are truly unique. was playing a match on hainan resort, was creeping up some stairs on the b flag and two jets scream by over head, its shit that wouldve been scripted in a cod game but happen organically in bf
That the best part of bf games, all the explosions and jets you’re hearing is actually playing out somewhere on the map. I’m glad it’s returned to a more modern timeline. Time to stinger this skyhoes
