Didn’t expect a trailer that gave us so much info! So both gameplay and story wise Sam is more gung-ho in this one? Maybe because of the presence of robot enemies firearms aren’t such an issue as robots don’t cause voidouts? He can also put his pack down to avoid damaging cargo while fighting which is cool.
We saw him start to play it in the first trailer! It even said “BB’s Theme 2022 featuring Troy Baker”
Did anybody notice that George Miller of Happy Feet fame is Fragile’s crewmate?
He spoke positively on Death Stranding so it’s neat he joins the ranks of directors Kojima uses as characters lmao https://twitter.com/i/status/1187700584020877312
So why do we think everything is grey when aboard the DHV Magellan at the start of the trailer? Sam also seems to have the longer white hair from the first trailer here. Do we think the footage of Sam with brown hair is a tutorial/intro segment before the game starts in earnest?
I’m even wondering if maybe we have an MGS2 scenario on our hand where most of the footage in the trailer is very early on and the game actually has quite a dramatic shift from the first…I don’t want to overhype it in my head, though. A more straight-laced sequel is still exciting.
Could be that. Could also be a very lazy type macguffin (think death strandind nanos). It’d plve pretty bold if it’s never explained though but your theory is very likely right. Kojima used to rework trailers too with scenes we never see in the game. Think Mgs4 snake putting gun in mouth in middle east.
I was thinking Sam and Fragile are grey because they are not really on the ship (yet), or Sam isn´t, and she´s giving Sam some kind of virtual tour. The walls, weapons are all in colour. So maybe a tutorial yeah. Or not. I remember he was also grey on the beach, after shooting/hugging Amelie.
Interesting observation, ippikitako! The gray tones surrounding Sam and Fragile could indeed signify a transition or a virtual space within the narrative. It’s akin to a tutorial, setting the stage for the unfolding adventure. That gray-on-the-beach moment after the Amelie encounter sparks curiosity, doesn’t it? To me, it might symbolize a liminal state, a moment where the boundaries between reality and the virtual world blur, adding an intriguing layer to the storyline. Can’t wait to see how Death Stranding 2 unravels these mysteries!
Just watched a few shorts of the DS2 show in Tokyo. This is gonna be amazing.
I want to know everything but also want to play the game fresh. Gonna be a long, hard wait.
Hah! I saw Dollman, but forgot to post here. Put my alarm, was half awake during the show, then went back to bed but couldn´t sleep. Gonna feel it tomorrow at work.
But yeah, looks sick! The clothes too but those prices mate… jeez. All his lines of clothes, watches, …
its kinda weird that wevre gonna get 2 koj games so close together. As curious as i am for delta, im just inherently more captivated and curious about this. the production qulaity is off the charts.
Got to love koj’s collabs with real companies, just wish it wouldnt be so bqt shit expensive.
Rewatched the Rebuild of Evangelion films and I do feel Kojima and Anno are very similar at times. The use of everyday tech and vehicles in their otherwise massively technologically advanced worlds is a great way to ground the characters.
